Hebrews 2:10

"For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."
Hebrews 2:10

There are several notable things about this verse. The author of Hebrews points out clearly that God, through His Son Jesus, created all things for His son, Jesus, who is spoken of here as the way by whom we inherit eternal life. Looking at this verse in the context of the previous nine verses, we can see that we have definite responsibilities towards God, for His mercies towards us. The Son of God, the one who created all things, humbled himself, (Philippians 2:8) and was made complete through His sufferings. This does not mean that he was incomplete before, but rather that he, through sufferings, was made "touchable," (Hebrews 4:15) in that he was able to show man that he had suffered as man suffers. It was the most complete and replete offering for sin that could ever be conceived. This Captain, Lord, God, Brother, Friend and High Priest came from Heaven to save the earth, but woe unto those who reject or neglect this salvation!!! (Hebrews 2:3)

It is impossible for our finite brains to comprehend the majesty and glory and power that is possessed by the one whom we are privileged to call our brother and friend. (John 15:15) God had no need of his creation; he was and is complete in Himself. All His creation is and was for the glory of His Son; simply out of the abundance of His fathomless coffers of wealth and intelligence.

Of a surety, as we bend low in humble obeisance, we say with king David of old: "What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that Thou visitest him?" (Psalm 8:4)
